A Bit About Us
Ahead of us are unprecedented demographic changes. According to the U.S. Census, around 2042, no racial group will be a majority in America. Seismic change has already begun:
In 2012, over half of babies born in the U.S. were Hispanic, black, Asian American or other minority groups;
In 2014, children of color became the majority in America’s public schools;
Five states and over 50 Metropolitan areas are “majority–minority” already.
Will the United States truly, fairly, invest in the talent of all of it’s people with the possible reward of a bright 21st century? Or, will its leaders turn backward and downward, preferring to reclaim history than claim an inclusive future?
It is up to us.
This grassroots policy process, beginning with dozens of community conversations will set a fresh vision to dismantle structural racism in education, the economy, democracy and our environment. Instead of the predicted generational or racial battles over limited resources, this is the moment to develop an inclusive vision that promotes equity and opportunity for all.
